An aspect of Bethesda's mission is a focus on empowerment of people with developmental disabilities.

July 26 marks the 26th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This act prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. The ADA was the result of hard work and collaboration between local, state and national groups. At each of these levels of advocacy, people with disabilities played critical roles in advising and shaping the outcome of this legislation.

This why at Bethesda, we believe that by working together and empowering people with developmental disabilities, we can help make the best life possible for ALL people with developmental disabilities. 

As God’s children, everyone has a part to play in making this a reality!
